Hi! I am Haoyu Zhao, from Chengdu, China. I am a doctoral student in the DCTech Lab, and my research focuses on adolescent smartphone use. I am quite interested in why our teenagers (and, let’s be honest, me too) are on their smartphones all the time, how this may interact with their mental health and interpersonal relationships. In the current digital era, where using smartphones is unavoidable, I believe understanding what is going on behind this phenomenon of pervasive smartphone use is imperative. We can then better ‘control’ our digital devices and help ourselves, friends, families, and community members live a healthier life.
