Damilola (Dami) Mabadeje is an undergraduate Research Assistant working under the supervision of Dr. Matt Carwana. She is completing her Integrated Sciences degree with a focus on Public Health, Physiology, and Immunology.

Driven by a deep commitment to learning and advocacy, Dami is passionate about advancing equitable healthcare for marginalized and equity-deserving communities, particularly children and youth. Her work is grounded in social paediatrics and community-centred engagement, with a focus on partnering meaningfully with young people and families. She is especially interested in trauma-informed approaches to care and in translating research into accessible, actionable tools that strengthen child and family well-being.

Outside of her academic work, Dami enjoys reading, exploring Vancouver’s vibrant restaurant scene, and strength training.
